WORLD WAR Z preps for global shoot

Max Brooks’ novel WORLD WAR Z tells tales of mankind’s battle with the undead all over the world, and news has come down that the impending feature film version will be an international affair as well.

Screen Daily reports that the Paramount/Plan B production is gearing up to start shooting in Malta in late June, followed by a stint in the UK. The production will then head to Hungary in early October. Marc Forster is directing from a screenplay by J. Michael Straczynski and Matthew Michael Carnahan; Plan B topper Brad Pitt is also starring as the UN researcher who interviews the survivors of the worldwide conflict, with Anthony Mackie and Mireille Enos also among the cast. Paramount plans to release the movie in 2014.
