Emmy nominee Sarah Niles has joined the cast of Apple Studios’ untitled F1 pic starring Brad Pitt. The cast also includes Damson Idris, Kerry Condon, Javier Bardem and Tobias Menzies. Joseph Kosinski is set to direct.
Kosinski will produce his untitled feature alongside Jerry Bruckheimer and Chad Oman of Jerry Bruckheimer Films, seven-time Formula One champion Lewis Hamilton through his Dawn Apollo banner and Plan B, with Copper CEO Penni Thow serving as executive producer.
Pitt stars as a former driver returning to the sport with fictional team APXGP, with Idris playing his teammate. Niles will play idris’ mother in the movie.
The more we see of the revamped Miraval Studios, the more impressive it looks. The famous facility, which was overhauled by owner Brad Pitt and partner Damien Quintard in 2022, has already hosted the likes of Sade, Steve Lacy and Travis Scott, and it’s now been confirmed that it’s been equipped with a selection of classic and contemporary Eventide effects processors.
As well as Eventide’s current all-singing, all-dancing H9000 multi-effects box, Miraval also has two classic H3000 Ultra-Harmonizers and two examples of the H910 Harmonizer, the world’s first digital effects processor, no less.
“I am grateful for the opportunity to work with some of the finest equipment in the world,” Quintard explains. “At Miraval Studios, we understand that the artist’s vision is of utmost importance, and our gear and equipment serve as tools for the engineers to help the artists bring that vision to life. With this in mind, we aim to provide as many options as possible to help artists achieve their desired sound. I like to have fun with the classic H910 or the modern H9000. The more flavour and colours we have, the merrier!”
Brad Pitt arrived as a surprise guest to the Santa Barbara International Film Festival on Thursday (02/08) night to pay tribute to Bradley Cooper, the Maestro and A Star Is Born actor and director who was honored as the festival’s Outstanding Performer of the Year before a sold-out audience of 2,000 at the stately Arlington Theater.
We’ll have highlights soon from Cooper’s Q&A, in which he discussed all of his films, did impersonations of collaborators Clint Eastwood and Robert De Niro, and said he would make another Hangover film “in a heartbeat.” But in the meantime, here are the remarks by Brad Pitt as he presented the award, and made fun of Cooper’s favorite football team.
Tonight, we celebrate the brilliant writer, director, actor, producer, singer-songwriter, Bradley Cooper. Now the first time I saw Bradley, I said to myself, one day — one day — I’m gonna milk this guy for a free trip to Santa Barbara.
Before we start, I want it known, for the record, I was this close, this close to getting A Star Is Born. And in the end, the director went with Bradley.
It’s selfish, really.
But truthfully, the first time Bradley made me sit up and start taking notes was in The Hangover. And really, if you look closely, amongst all the chaos of trying to, you know, find their friend, you’ll see the more irreverent that that Alan — Zach Galifianakis gets — the more that Phil — Bradley — is enjoying that irreverence. It’s subtle, it’s often to the side of the frame, but it’s there.
