IF ANYONE had told Jonah Hill five years ago he would star opposite Brad Pitt in a hit dramatic film, he’d have laughed in their face.
Better known for comedy roles in films such as Superbad and Get Him To the Greek, Hill not only holds his own against Pitt in the underdog baseball drama Moneyball, there are also whispers his name could be mentioned in the up coming awards season.
“I don’t think it’s something you think is actually going to be a reality,” the once-rotund, now slimline Hill says of sharing the screen with the man twice voted People magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive. “It’s all very surreal.”
Bizarre though it may have been for Hill to work with Pitt, the two had shared screen credits before – in last year’s animated Megamind – and had met socially through mutual friends.
“We went to see Radiohead together a few years ago when we were all in Italy – it sounds really fancy,” Hill says, sounding a little sheepish. “I was travelling around Europe by myself on an exploratory trip and I met up with my friends who were also good friends of Brad and we all went to see Radiohead.”
