The actor, 47, will be shooting scenes at the Essex and Suffolk Water treatment works.
Parts of the building will be transformed into a Korean prison for the zombie flick which has a budget of £125million. The Fight Club star, who famously has six children with Angelina Jolie, is expected to start filming at the end of this week.
The film is set to hit UK cinemas in December 2012.
Filming is only taking place at part of the site, which will remain fully operational while the cast and crew are there.

“It was scarier to work with Phil, because his character didn’t like me in the movie,” Hill said. “Brad and I are the two leads of the movie and Phil, he doesn’t like us in the movie. He doesn’t like what we represent.”
Moneyball is the real-life story about Oakland A’s manager Billy Beane’s (Pitt) attempt to revamp the disgraced baseball team with the help of his assistant general manager (Hill).
Hill echoed what so many other celebs have told us about working with Pitt.
“He’s fantastic,” he said. “He’s so giving. He’s just, like, a guy you look up to for so many reasons. He’s the coolest guy! He started playing pranks on me like right off the bat.” Hill declined to say exactly what Mr. Pitt did, but we imagine whoopee cushions were not involved.

“Brad thinks I’m going to be a nightmare,” Jolie jokes, telling how directing her new movie, In the Land of Blood and Honey, has changed the way she will approach her acting career. “I had such a good experience he thinks I’m going to be impatient with directors, which I already am. I get impatient with people working on a film that have their head in their hands like it’s the most complicated thing in the world.”
Jolie does elaborate on Brad’s supportive role throughout the project. “He’d come in and say what he liked or what he didn’t understand. Like any woman, I would listen to most of it and fight a few things. He’s been so supportive. But it’s hard to separate the person that loves you from the critic, so I don’t think he’s a fair judge.” But she goes on to say that “people will judge for themselves. I think if you make a good movie people walk away arguing.”

BIG-HEARTED Brad Pitt halted filming his zombie epic in Scotland yesterday (08/21) – to back a hard-up kids’ football team.
Brad, 47, put his £80million blockbuster World War Z on hold to pose for fundraising photos with Cardonald Thistle under-14s.
The star had been filming in a disused branch of budget superstore Kwik Save in Glasgow.
The boys, based just a goal kick away, turned up on spec to ask for a picture and were stunned when Brad said yes.
The team had been taking part in a sponsored 10k challenge to raise money for a tournament in Spain.
Coach John Paterson said: “We only got five minutes with him but he was great with the kids. He asked them how they were and about the run.

BEVERLY HILLS, California — Terrence Malick kicks off his new film, “The Tree of Life,” with a bang. The Big Bang, actually. Over the next 138 minutes, the viewer witnesses a journey through history that ends up in a small town in Texas. Critics seem to agree that you’ll either love it or hate it.
“Terrence Malick has vision,” Brad Pitt, who stars in the film, tells The Japan Times. “He’s not about commercial concerns, he’s about stretching filmmaking to the limit.”
It’s a vision that not everyone is seeing, but those who do are impressed. The critic Roger Ebert called the film a “form of prayer” that made him “alert to the awe of existence.” The film also won the Palme d’Or at this year’s Cannes Film Festival in France.
Malick is famous for not giving interviews. He has directed six films since debuting with the short “Lanton Mills” in 1969. This lack of output has been attributed to his perfectionist approach to making movies. As Japan Times film critic Giovanni Fazio pointed out in last week’s review of “The Tree of Life,” this can be both a curse and a blessing.
However, Pitt stands by Malick’s perfectionism, “When Terrence makes a movie, he takes his time. He can’t be dictated to. He’ll wait just as long as he needs to start shooting.”

Hill House in Helensburgh, Scotland is one of Charles Rennie Mackintosh’s most famous works, probably second only to Glasgow School of Art. It was designed and built for the publisher Walter Blackie in 1902 – 1904.

Brad Pitt has tested the waters for selling his Malibu beach house before, but now it’s official – and on the market for $13.75 million.
While photos of the home aren’t easy to come by, Realtor.com reports the four-bedroom, four-bathroom mid-century modern home faces Point Mugu State Park on one side and has incredible Pacific Ocean views on the other. The home has beach access to a private cove.
According to Real Estalker, Pitt bought the home for $8.41 million in 2005, around the time he was getting a divorce from Jennifer Aniston. Pitt, an architecture fan, extensively renovated the home. In 2009, the house was put up as a “pocket listing” for $18 million – meaning there was an agreement with a broker but it was never advertised or put on the multiple listing service. In comparison, the current $13.75 million listing price seems like a bargain.
