Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie stepped out Saturday night to attend the Directors Guild of America Awards in Los Angeles – and observers say the couple were as happy as can be.
“They looked very giggly,” an onlooker tells PEOPLE.
Pitt, who was at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza to introduce his Inglourious Basterds director Quentin Tarantino, was an attentive companion to Jolie, a surprise guest, who wore a gray, single-shoulder Elie Saab gown with gold hoop earrings by Ofira Schwartz, Stuart Weitzman shoes and a vintage bag.

DGA President Taylor Hackford announced today that Carl Reiner will return as host for the 62nd Annual Directors Guild of America Awards. This year will mark the 22nd time Reiner has hosted the DGA Awards, which will take place on Saturday, January 30, 2010 at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza in Los Angeles.
Also announced were the slate of presenters for the DGA Awards.

While reports are swirling that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are headed for a split, multiple sources close to the family tell PEOPLE that the rumors are false.
“Everything is fine” with the couple, who are parents to six kids, a source says.
Another source says the split reports, which were first published in a British tabloid, are “totally false.“

Robert Pattinson will be manning the phones at Friday’s telethon for Haiti, joining Brad Pitt, Bill Clinton, Clint Eastwood, Jon Stewart, Matt Damon, Meryl Streep, Morgan Freeman, Julia Roberts, Leonardo DiCaprio, Nicole Kidman and Tom Hanks.
Added to the previously announced musical acts are Madonna and Beyoncé. Haitian artist Emeline Michel is also on the lineup.
The two-hour Hope for Haiti Now: A Global Benefit for Earthquake Relief, begins at 8 p.m. ET and will be hosted by Wyclef Jean in New York, George Clooney in Los Angeles and CNN’s Anderson Cooper in Haiti.

Inglorious Basterds had bad luck at Golden Globes, only winning its BEST PERFORMANCE BY AN ACTOR IN A SUPPORTING ROLE IN A MOTION PICTURE for Christoph Waltz of the four nominations it got.
