Ok, that’s sort of a trick question as it’s probably debatable whether there is a “plot” to Terrence Malick’s “Tree Of Life” — though there will be many heavenly pretty shots of ladybugs landing in the palms of children’s hand, lovingly inspected with curiosity and awe — but French composer Alexandre Desplat, who wrote the score, just “revealed” more plot that anyone part of the cast ever has.

“It’s a deep story about love, how you transmit love, through your family; from the parents to the children. And the evolution of mankind… since the creation. Heavy things, but with everyday life things. That’s one of the great ideas that Terrence has been working on. We see a family in the ’50s in Texas in their everyday lives, but there’s more, of course, connections to the big picture.”

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are breaking into high-end jewelry design with Asprey via a capsule collection of gold jewelry and silver accessories called The Protector — and inspired by the snake.

The limited edition collection, which was conceived and designed by Pitt and Jolie, has been in the works for more than a year, and will go on sale at Asprey stores in London, New York, Beverly Hills, Tokyo and Dubai later this week, according to Asprey officials.

Prices start at $525 for a silver baby spoon with a curving, serpent-shaped handle, and all net proceeds from sales will go to Education Partnership for Children of Conflict, which was cofounded by Jolie in 2006. The charity raises awareness and funds to educate child victims of war, conflict and natural disasters.

Jolie and Pitt declined to talk about their collection for Asprey, opting instead to discuss the aims of the charity in an e-mailed quote attributed to Jolie: “These are the children who most need a safe place to learn, a place to heal, a place to learn reconciliation, a place to build a better future and a place — to just be children. Yet the education for these children is often forgotten. Tens of millions of children and adolescents in conflict are not in school.”

Moneyball was almost dead after the arguments between Steven Soderbergh and the producers. Now with the introduction of Bennett Miller it seems to be taking off. The film was said to star Brad Pitt in the lead but it closed down production couple of days into it.

Now there is another script doing the works after Aaron Sorkin did his penmanship to it. It is has been getting a lot of good buzz with Sony wanting Academy nominated filmmaker Bennett Miller to take up the reigns from Steven Soderbergh.

Another thing that has been cropping up is the fact that the new script is a comedy. There is surely not going to be the presence of Brad Pitt in this one. He might join Steven Soderbergh on another major league baseball film.

There is also news that Marc Webb might also be in contention to do this project. I guess it is a case of too much speculation which might work against its favor.

Source. I don’t know how reliable this information is.

Hollywood star Brad Pitt filmed his first ever guest appearance on a Japanese variety show on his recent PR trip to Tokyo. He and director Quentin Tarantino were in town last week to promote the movie “Inglourious Basterds” and they fitted in a visit to the Fuji TV show “SMAPxSMAP”. The episode will be aired on Monday, November 16. The Hollywood duo appear on the “Bistro SMAP” segment, with members of the pop group preparing dishes ordered by their guests. Katori Shingo joked that when he feels run down, he watches the Pitt movie “Fight Club,” to which Burapi happily quipped, “Me, too!” He and Tarantino talked about their love for Tokyo and Japan.

Moneyball still isn’t dead yet. Aaron Sorkin has been working on a new draft of the script since Steven Soderbergh was essentially booted a few months ago, but the film still needs a director. And that’s where Capote’s Bennett Miller and Marc Webb, director of (500) Days of Summer, might come into the picture. They’re on the list of a few guys that Sony has been talking to as possible new helmers for the film, which surprisingly still has Brad Pitt attached to star. The question is, who’ll get the job?

A new film theater at the National World War II museum is hoping to lure visitors with a film produced by actor Tom Hanks that features the sights and sounds of battle.

“Beyond All Boundaries,” which premiered at the museum on Saturday, inaugurated the new Solomon Victory Theater. The film recalls the winter fighting of the Battle of the Bulge in Belgium’s Ardennes Forest.

As archival footage unfolded on a 120-foot (36.5 meter) screen, the theater’s seats vibrated when German Tiger tanks stormed across the deserts of North Africa. Smoke filled the air as bomber planes made hits and snow fell on the audience, recalling the frigid winter conditions.

“We wanted to create a one-of-a-kind sensory experience that would engage all the senses,” Hanks, the executive producer, told the audience.

“We had the opportunity to do what good entertainment does, and what fine telling of history does, at its best,” he said, adding that the film’s makers wanted to present a story younger audiences could understand.

Actors Brad Pitt, Kevin Bacon, Elijah Wood and Tobey Maguire also read from diaries written by soldiers and journalists during the movie.
