The presentation began with director Tom McGrath (Madagascar) talking about the film and the premise. Imagine if Superman (without the powers but same origin) was raised by criminals. That’s Megamind (voiced by Will Ferrell). The back-story is Megamind was sent to Earth but instead of being raised by caring parents, he landed in a prison yard and was taught his values by criminals. Of course no villain is complete without a superhero to fight, and that would be Metro Man (who is being voiced by Brad Pitt). And like any good superhero story , there has to be a woman who is the center of it all, and she’s a reporter named Rozanne (voiced by Tina Fey).

Brad and Angelina Donate $1 Million to Haiti Quake Relief
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s foundation is contributing $1 million to the emergency medical operation responding to the devastating 7.0-magnitude quake in Haiti.
“It is incredibly horrible to see a catastrophe of this size hit a people who have been suffering from extreme poverty, violence and unrest for so many decades,” says Jolie.
Adds Pitt: “We understand the first response is critical to serve the immediate needs of countless people who are now displaced from their homes, are suffering trauma, and most require urgent care.“
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt Pledge Their Support to Help the Victims of the Haiti Earthquake
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt expressed their deep sorrow tonight at the widespread lost of life that has occurred in the Haiti earthquake.
In a written statement, they said:
“We are devastated by the news from Haiti. We will work closely with our good friend Wyclef Jean to support the humanitarian efforts on the island and help those who have been injured and left without homes and shelter.”
Ms. Jolie and Mr. Pitt have visited the island in recent years to assist Wyclef Jean’s charity Yele Haiti.

Brad and Angelina Won’t Attend Golden Globes
Word on the street is that Hollywood’s golden couple won’t be attending the Golden Globes on January 17th. Sources tell E! News that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are opting out of the award show.
Apparently the reason for the no-show is because Brad isn’t nominated personally for his role in Inglourious Basterds. Angie’s stylist said last night, “They’re not going because he’s not nominated individually. Inglourious Basterds is, but not him.”

Over 6000 members of the Academy vote in three rounds to decide the winners of the Orange British Academy Film Awards and the Long List is the result of Round One of voting. With 220 films entered this year, this first round reduces the entered films down to fifteen in each category. Round Two voting will reduce these fifteen contenders down to the five nominations in each category.
The full list of nominations will be announced on Thursday 21 January at BAFTA Headquarters.
Brad is pre-nominated as leading actor for his Lt. Aldo Raine from Inglorious Basterds.
