That’s the highly competitive race to acquire an untitled pitch package that will have Brad Pitt playing a racer who comes out of retirement to mentor a younger driver and take his final stab at glory on the track as the younger driver’s teammate.
Top Gun: Maverick director Joseph Kosinski will helm, and Ehren Kruger is writing the script. Top Gun‘s Jerry Bruckheimer is producing alongside Plan B.

‘Lego Masters’ Renewed for Season 3 at Fox
Fox announced that “Lego Masters” has been renewed for a third season, which is set to premiere in 2022.
Will Arnett will return as host and executive producer of the series, which is based on the British edition of the same name and sees pairs of Lego enthusiasts compete in building challenges with an unlimited supply of Lego bricks.
“Lego Masters” is produced by Endemol Shine North America, Tuesday’s Child and Plan B Entertainment under license from the Lego Group.
3-Body Problem: Jovan Adepo, Benedict Wong & more join Netflix series
Game of Thrones TV series creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss are now working on an epic Netflix series called Three Body Problem, an adaptation of a trilogy of sci-fi novels written by Chinese author Liu Cixin. A couple months ago, we heard that Eiza González (Baby Driver, From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series) was in talks to star in the show, and now Variety has not only confirmed that she is in the cast, they’ve also revealed the names of eleven of her co-stars.
Benioff and Weiss serve as showrunners on 3-Body Problem, with Alexander Woo (The Terror: Infamy) on board as co-creator, writer, and executive producer. Rian Johnson, Rosamund Pike, Bernadette Caulfield, Ram Bergman, Nena Rodrigue, Robie Uniacke, and Brad Pitt’s Plan B Entertainment are also executive producing, alongside Zhao Jilong, CEO of rights holder The Three-Body Universe, and Lin Qi, the late chairman of rights holder Yoozoo Group.
Journalism professor’s book used as first-year text
Baruch College Professor Bridget Davis’ memoir “The World According to Fannie Davis: My Mother’s Life in the Detroit Numbers” was selected for the second consecutive year as the first year text for incoming students.
The memoir received major recognition, recognized by The New York Times Editors’ Choice list and BuzzFeed’s Best Books of 2019 list.
Plan B Entertainment, Brad Pitt’s production company, and Searchlight Pictures, the Disney owned arthouse studio, have acquired Davis’s memoir in a dual collaboration.
It will be adapted into a feature film, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Adam Shapiro Joins Cast of ‘She Said’ for Maria Schrader-Directed Universal Film
Carey Mulligan and Zoe Kazan topline as New York Times reporters Jodi Kantor and Megan Twohey in a movie about their Pulitzer Prize-winning investigation that brought to light Harvey Weinstein’s pattern of serial sexual misconduct.
Schrader is directing the Universal Pictures project from an adapted screenplay by Rebecca Lenkiewicz. Brad Pitt, Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner’s Plan B is producing, with Megan Ellison and Sue Naegle executive producing for Annapurna Pictures. A high-profile debut is set for Nov. 18, 2022.
Plan B Entertainment Hires Carina Sposato & Ernest McNealey As TV Executives
Scott Free’s Carina Sposato and Netflix’s Ernest McNealey have joined Brad Pitt’s Plan B Entertainment as the company’s first dedicated, senior-level TV executives. The expansion of Plan B’s television division is part of the ongoing TV ramp-up at the company, run by co-presidents Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner, whose current series slate is its largest to date. Sposato and McNealey will work on developing TV projects for Plan B, which has an exclusive overall television deal at Amazon Studios.
“As we continue to grow and expand the business, we do so with an eye towards building for the future with the next generation of storytellers,” said Plan B’s Pitt, Gardner and Kleiner. “Carina and Ernest will be two great additions to Plan B as we head into our next decade.”

Uni is in negotiations with Carey Mulligan and Zoe Kazan to star as Twohey and Kantor. The film is set to begin production this summer and will be directed by Unorthodox director Maria Schrader from a script by Oscar-winner Rebecca Lenkiewicz.
