Brad Pitt to be featured in exclusive MLB All-Star themed opening segment

Brad Pitt, star of the baseball movie “Moneyball” in theaters this September, will be featured during the opening segment of the Fox broadcast of the 82nd All-Star Game on July 12th beginning at 8:00pm ET.

Pitt, who plays baseball legend Billy Beane in the film, will celebrate Major League Baseball All-Stars past and present, showing fans what it means to be the best.

Actor Morgan Freeman to receive AFI tribute

A host of Hollywood luminaries will turn out tonight in tribute to Oscar-winning actor Morgan Freeman, who will receive the 39th American Film Institute Life Achievement Award.
The award is the top honor bestowed by AFI, which chooses recipients “whose talent has in a fundamental way advanced the film art; whose accomplishment has been acknowledged by scholars, critics, professional peers and the general public; and whose work has stood the test of time.”

Eastwood, Spielberg and Nicholson are among those expected to attend the ceremony at Sony Pictures Studios, along with notables such as Ben Affleck, Jim Carrey, Tom Hanks, Ashley Judd, Helen Mirren, Mike Nichols, Brad Pitt, Sidney Poitier, Robert Redford, Tim Robbins, Hilary Swank, Denzel Washington and Alfre Woodard.

In the parking lot outside a Los Angeles photo studio, a scruffy-looking guy sporting a goatee, black T-shirt and motorcycle boots sits on the curb puffing a cigarette. He’s listening intently to a stylish man rave about a cool camera shop. A passerby would barely notice the pair as they head into the building.

Brad Pitt Narrates Super Bowl Film

Brad Pitt is the NFL’s voice for its upcoming documentary on the New Orleans’ Saints Super Bowl victory.

Pitt narrates NFL Films’ documentary, “America’s Game: 2009 New Orleans Saints,” about the team’s win over the Indianapolis Colts last February. The film debuts on the NFL Network at 9 p.m. EDT on Sept. 8, the night before the Saints begin their defense of the Super Bowl title.

The NFL traditionally seeks out a celebrity narrator for its annual Super Bowl documentary. Pitt was chosen because of his humanitarian work in New Orleans in the five years since Hurricane Katrina, the NFL said.

This past Tuesday saw the DVD release of the second season set, and Shout! Factory is wasting no time in letting fans know that the next-to-last season is already on the way. Today an Amazon pre-order listing was unveiled for the May 11th release of thirtysomething – The Complete 3rd Season. Cost is shown to be $59.97 SRP for a 6-DVD set running 1140 minutes, but you can lock in your copy at a discount by pre-purchasing now.
