We knew Brad Pitt had a wicked sense of humor, but who knew he was capable of making Rihanna blush?!
Friday the 50-year-old actor made a bit of a surprise appearance at the First Annual Diamond Ball at The Vineyard in Beverly Hills, which benefitted Rihanna’s Clara Lionel Foundation. Jimmy Kimmel hosted the event and introduced Brad, who then gave a speech and introduced Rihanna. But it wasn’t just any speech — it was more of a roast!
Angelina Jolie’s hunky hubby started off in a very serious tone, and as an image of a very young Rihanna appeared on the screen behind him, he said, “I’ve often asked the very questions you yourself are asking right now—what the f*ck went wrong?”
“I give you exhibit A,” he said. “Look at the young girl before you, all full of hopes and dreams, living a humble existence in Barbados, her whole life ahead of her.” Pitt added that RiRi “soon fell in with a bad crowd led by the dubious and nefarious character known as The Jay Z.”
“For those you not in the know, The Jay Z was an evil impresario known for turning out hit records and ripping insane lyrics and fresh beats,” Brad continued. “Needless to say it was all downhill from there.” Brad then praised Rihanna for selling 54 millions albums, winning seven Grammys and having “only 90 million Facebook fans and 40 million Twitter followers,” but when a Photoshopped image of an overweight Rihanna on a couch popped up behind him, Brad joked, “I ask that we stand together by her side and show her our support and our love and say to her the hard words, ‘Rihanna put down that sandwich, get off your *ss and do something. God damn it, just do something with your life.'”

Oprah Gets Emotional Talking About ‘Selma’
For Oprah Winfrey, the story told in the upcoming historical drama Selma is as important today as it ever was, and her passion for the project is evident.
At the Selma: The Legends Who Paved the Way gala, held on Saturday, Oprah walked the red carpet and spoke with ET’s Kevin Frazier about the importance of the film in today’s political climate.
“You know I have always believed in divine timing. In my own life things just happen as they should. This film has been … maybe seven to eight years in the making,” Oprah shared.
The film, which Oprah co-produced under Harpo Productions alongside Brad Pitt’s Plan B Entertainment, is a historical period piece with a massive ensemble cast, but had a limited budget – which has been estimated at around $20 million. It was a challenge that few directors wanted to take on, except for indie director Ava DuVernay.

Jolie on Marriage to Brad Pitt: ‘I’m Gonna Get This Wife Thing Down’
The notoriously private Angelina Jolie is finally opening up about her marriage to Brad Pitt.
In an interview with Tom Brokaw on Tuesday’s Today show, Jolie revealed that her relationship with Pitt has changed since they said “I do.”
Though they had already been together for nearly a decade prior to tying the knot on Aug. 23, she admitted that “recommitting after 10 years of being together” provided an added level of “security and comfort.”
“We were fortunate enough to be in that unusual situation where we got married with our children and they were part of the ceremony and they wrote some of the vows,” Jolie said.
That’s not all – as PEOPLE previously reported, her six children also had a hand in designing her Atelier Versace gown! Maddox, 13, and Pax, 10, walked their mother down the aisle, and Zahara, 9, and Vivienne, 6, acted as flower girls. Shiloh, 8, and Knox, 6, were ring bearers.
“[Our wedding day] was all of us agreeing to be together and to just commit to this life together,” Jolie continued. “Not because we had to or because anything was missing in our lives, but because we were absolutely sure we felt that much of a family. … It was really lovely. It was a lovely day.”
Rihanna Enlists Brad Pitt for Her Inaugural Diamond Ball
When Rihanna performs at her first annual Diamond Ball next month in L.A., she’s going to have one heck of an introduction.
None other than Brad Pitt will introduce the “Stay” singer at the gala, which benefits Rihanna’s Clara Lionel Foundation (CLF) and takes place on Dec. 11.
It was also announced today that Jimmy Kimmel will host the soiree.
“It is such an honor to have Jimmy Kimmel host this event. There is no one more hilarious to make the first annual Diamond Ball an incredible night. I’m blessed by his support,” Rihanna said in a statement. “Brad Pitt is not only a phenomenal talent, but I admire him and am inspired by his philanthropic work.”
CLF, named in honor of Rihanna’s grandparents Clara and Lionel Brathwaite, works to improve the lives of underserved communities worldwide in the areas of health, education, the arts and culture.

Writer for Sci-Fi Thriller ‘Alpha
Lionsgate has picked up the project that has newcomer Anthony Scott Burns attached to direct
Lionsgate has picked up Alpha, a sci-fi project that sees Robopocalypse author Daniel H. Wilson teaming up with Brad Pitt and his Plan B banner.
Anthony Scott Burns, a Canadian filmmaker, is attached to make his feature debut with Alpha, which Pitt would produce with his Plan B partners Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner.
Wilson came up with the original idea and will write the screenplay. Details of the project are being kept secret, but it is known to be sci-fi survival story that has shades of Jack London, the author behind such tales as White Fang and The Call of the Wild.
Part of the pitch involved a fake commercial, shot by Burns, for a fictional company that is central to the story.
Wilson is the author behind books with a robotics bent, such as How to Survive a Robot Uprising and Robogenesis as well as Robopocalypse, which Steven Spielberg came close to adapting. He also wrote several screenplays, including a remake of Cherry 2000 for MGM and adapting his book Bro-Jitsu: The Martial Art of Sibing Rivalry for Nickelodeon.
