Bong Joon Ho’s follow-up film to his Oscar-winning Parasite is gaining quite the ensemble, as sources tell Deadline that Toni Collette and Mark Ruffalo (whose deals are in final negotiations), along with Naomi Ackie, are joining Robert Pattinson in Bong’s next feature at Warner Bros. The untitled film is based on the novel Mickey7 by Edward Ashton.
Bong will write, direct and produce for his production company Offscreen, alongside Kate Street Picture Company’s Dooho Choi and Plan B’s Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner, as part of the latter’s overall deal with Warner Bros. The film reteams Bong and Choi with Brad Pitt’s Plan B following their successful collaboration on the director’s 2017 film Okja.

López to Adapt LGBTQ History Bestseller ‘The Deviant’s War’ as Amazon Limited Series (EXCLUSIVE)
Amazon Studios and Brad Pitt’s Plan B Entertainment are developing a limited series based on “The Deviant’s War: The Homosexual vs. The United States of America,” historian Eric Cervini’s New York Times bestseller. The book tells the story of Frank Kameny, a Department of Defense astronomer in the 1950s who became a leading figure in the fight for LGBTQ civil rights when he sued the federal government after being fired because he was gay.
Tony-winning playwright Matthew López (“The Inheritance”) is set to adapt, Variety has exclusively learned.
Damien Chazelle’s ‘Babylon,’ Shows Off Old Hollywood Glamour and Mayhem at CinemaCon
Chazelle’s latest film “Babylon” dazzled with its Old Hollywood glamour and other more eccentric charms and mayhem at CinemaCon on Thursday, one of the showpieces of Paramount’s presentation.
Chazelle’s film, which is a “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” reunion of Brad Pitt and Margot Robbie, has a lot of style, some jazz but also some madcap humor, including a closing scene to the trailer in which Pitt’s producing tent is precariously located next to where an elaborate battlefield is staging a period war scene, only for a spear to come flying in inches next to his head. Don’t worry, he was unfazed and merely used the moment to berate his prop’s guy.
‘Bullet Train’ Moves A Week Later This Summer
The Brad Pitt original action movie, Bullet Train, is moving from July 29 to Aug. 5.
Why the move? We hear Sony is positioning Bullet Train as the last big event film of the summer in that first August weekend slot.
