The heart-pounding, high-intensity feature film HITTING THE APEX is racing into theaters November 17, 2015 for a one-night nationwide event.

HITTING THE APEX, produced and narrated by Brad Pitt, is the inside story of six fighters – six of the fastest motorcycle racers of all time – and of the fates that awaited them at the peak of the sport. It’s the story of what is at stake for all of them: all that can be won, and all that can be lost, when you go chasing glory at over two hundred miles an hour – on a motorcycle.

TheatriCast, the new event cinema initiative from Different Drummer and Tugg, is releasing the film and exclusive event content on more than 40 screens, determined by the demands and data of racing and motorcycle fans across North America. HITTING THE APEX has had successful theatrical launches in the UK, Italy, and Spain.

Motor racing in all its guises has proved rich fodder for documentaries down the years, offering gripping entertainment for even the non-especially-petrolheaded fraternity. The Brad Pitt-narrated Hitting The Apex will be hoping to match the narrative cut and thrust of recent docs like Senna and TT3D, with a look at the world of MotoGP. Pitt, a MotoGP fanboy, narrates the film which has a new trailer below.

Like those two docs, Hitting The Apex is touched by tragedy. Runs the synopsis: “Follow the intense rivalry between Valentino Rossie and Jorge Lorenzo, and explore the great friendship between Rossi and Marco Simoncelli, the rising star who tragically lost his life on the track. Marvel at the meteoric rise of young rookie, Marc Marquez, as he takes the sport by storm, despite suffering numerous injuries and enduring the fastest ever MotoGP crash.”

Directed by British documentarian Mark Neale, Hitting The Apex hits the cinema on September 2.
