After bumping into ‘A List’ Hollywood star Brad Pitt as his entourage stopped for petrol in Glencoe two weeks ago, a group of Curvy Riders are wondering which famous faces they might encounter when they visit Biggar and Lanark on October 5
The eight lady motorcycle enthusiasts – who saw Brad as he took a break from filming zombie blockbuster World War Z in Glasgow – are coming to Clydesdale next month as part of a trip taking them the curvy way around central and southern Scotland to raise funds for Guide Dogs For The Blind’s 80th anniversary celebrations.
“The ladies couldn’t believe that it was actually Brad,” said Guide Dogs’ development fundraiser Julie Millar.
“He was on a BMW F800 motorbike and said he was very impressed with the ladies bikes.
“Brad had a right good chat with the ladies and they said that he seemed like a really nice guy.

Amarillo resident Sloane Ware worked as an assistant for Brad Pitt on the Austin-area set of “The Tree of Life” in 2008. The film opens in Amarillo on Friday at Westgate Mall 6.
Sloane Ware is still fizzy with excitement two years after she worked for the most famous celebrity couple in the world.
Ware was hired to assist Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie when they were living in Bastrop in 2008 while Pitt filmed “The Tree of Life,” a Terrence Malick film opening at Amarillo’s Westgate Mall 6 on Friday.
Her husband, Tol Ware, was working as an office production assistant on the set when he heard that Pitt’s assistant needed someone familiar with Austin to help with errands.
“Tol had come home that night and said, ‘I heard about a job on set today, but I don’t know if you’d be interested’,” Sloane said.
When he explained the job duties, she exploded.
“I was like, ‘Shut the hell up! Are you kidding me? And you didn’t think I wanted to take this on?’” she laughed.

STAFF at a romantic Wester Ross retreat took it in their stride when a mystery man on a motorcycle pitched up at the front door.
It wasn’t until he removed his helmet that it dawned on them they were playing host to one of Hollywood’s hottest heart-throbs, Brad Pitt. The leading man, one half of Tinseltown’s most glamorous couple, arrived at the luxurious Pool House getaway at Poolewe alone astride a borrowed BMW following an epic road trip.
The superstar, who has been filming a zombie move in Glasgow, was so “blown away” by the Highland scenery that he decided to grab a few precious hours in the area incognito to drink in its splendour.
Reported sightings of Pitt in the Gairloch area had set tongues wagging in the normally quiet Wester Ross community.
His partner, Angelina Jolie, was understood to be in the Netherlands at the time fulfilling duties in her role as a UN goodwill ambassador. The couple and their large family had been a frenzied focus of photographers from around the world while Pitt was filming in Glasgow.
While the award-winning Pool House is regularly listed amongst the most romantic retreats in the country, it was where the 47-year-old star of films including Fight Club and Seven Years in Tibet chose for some quiet time alone.
But his arrival even came as a surprise to owner Elizabeth Miles. Confirming the rumours yesterday, she told the Journal, “Yes, he did stay here on Saturday.
“He arrived on his motorbike we didn’t even know who it was. He was booked in under a false name. We didn’t know who it was until he took his motorcycle helmet off.”

A ROYAL NAVY navigator said meeting Brad Pitt when the star was shooting World War Z aboard the Royal Fleet Auxiliary ship Argus “wasn’t too shabby”.
Steven McMenemy, 31, from Falkirk, Stirlingshire, was joined by the actor and the rest of the cast and crew of Pitt’s new zombie flick.
Paramount Pictures had asked the Ministry of Defence if one of their ships could be used to play the role of a helicopter carrier.
The ship’s crew at first thought the request was a “wind-up” by commanding officer Captain Kehoe.
But when RFA Argus returned to the UK after an anti-piracy patrol, film location scouts were already waiting on the jetty.
A few days later the ship was told that World War Z director Marc Forster was impressed and wanted to film on the Argus.
Mr McMenemy, the ship’s navigator, was appointed host of the film crew and sat next to the director while the scenes were shot.
He said: “I have thoroughly enjoyed working with the cast and crew of World War Z. It has given me an unprecedented level of behind-the-scenes access and I have enjoyed seeing how it all comes together.
“The major highlight must be sharing daily banter with the director Marc Forster, as I had a seat right next to him on every scene.
“But it wasn’t too shabby to meet Brad Pitt and the rest of the actors. The bizarre thing was that once he’d walked by a few times, everyone got very blase about it and he was just another actor walking back and forth.

BIG-HEARTED Brad Pitt halted filming his zombie epic in Scotland yesterday (08/21) – to back a hard-up kids’ football team.
Brad, 47, put his £80million blockbuster World War Z on hold to pose for fundraising photos with Cardonald Thistle under-14s.
The star had been filming in a disused branch of budget superstore Kwik Save in Glasgow.
The boys, based just a goal kick away, turned up on spec to ask for a picture and were stunned when Brad said yes.
The team had been taking part in a sponsored 10k challenge to raise money for a tournament in Spain.
Coach John Paterson said: “We only got five minutes with him but he was great with the kids. He asked them how they were and about the run.

Steffani was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma, a cancer found in lymph tissue, in 2007 at the age of fourteen. While going through treatment, Steffani was referred to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Central & South Texas. The Foundation grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions. When asked what would be the one thing she would wish for if she could have anything, Steffani replied, “I wish to be an actress.”
The Make-A-Wish staff went to work to create a magical experience for Steffani. In the spring of 2008, her dream came true when she was given the opportunity to visit the set ofThe Tree of Life, a movie being filmed in Austin. Her mother, Tamara, said it couldn’t have come at a better time as she had finished her treatments just six weeks prior.
