Synopsis:
After super-villain Megamind (Ferrell) kills his good-guy nemesis, Metro Man (Pitt), he becomes bored since there is no one left to fight. He creates a new foe, Titan (Hill), who, instead of using his powers for good, sets out to destroy the world, positioning Megamind to save the day for the first time in his life.

Trivia & Facts:
The film was originally titled “Master Mind.” However, the name had already been trademarked by the makers of the 1970s board game and TV show, so it could not be used.

The film was going to be titled “Oobermind”, which was a misspelling of the term “über-mind.” The word “über” refers to something that is large or great; in this case, the title character’s over-swollen skull/brain. But it didn’t sound right, so it was revised to become “Megamind”.

The film’s plot was based on the premise: “What if Lex Luthor defeated Superman?”

Brad Pitt returns to voice acting since Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas (2003), another DreamWorks film.

Megamind’s blue skin pays homage to _ “Freakazoid!” (1995)_(TV), another superhero spoof produced by Steven Spielberg. The title hero, Freakazoid, also had blue skin.

Ben Stiller and Robert Downey Jr. were approached for the role of Megamind, but both turned it down due to scheduling conflicts.

Both Megamind and Metro Man’s costumes pay homage to the DC Comics hero Captain Marvel: Metro Man sports an all-white version and Megamind a black version of Marvel’s suit, but Megamind’s suit sports a lightning bolt blazed on it, like Marvel.

Each of the three superhumans in the film has a unique color scheme: Megamind’s prominent color is blue, Metro Man is always seen with white, and Titan is colored red.

The Metro Man Museum, inaugurated to honor Metro Man, is a tribute to the DC Comics superhero the Flash, who had the Flash Museum built in his honor.

Quotes
Metro Man: All right, put your hands in the air!

[at a felicitation ceremony in his honour]
Metro Man: Yeah, Metro City!

Megamind: This will be the last you ever hear of… Roxanne Ritchi! Huh?
Metro Man: [gasps] Roxanne! Don’t panic, Roxy… I’m on my way!
Roxanne Ritchi: I’m not panicking.
Megamind: [smirking] In order to stop me, you’ll have to find us first!
Roxanne Ritchi: We’re at the abandoned observatory!

[Metro Man crashes into the observatory, but finds no one present]
Megamind: [from projector] Over here, old friend! In case you’ve noticed, you’ve fallen right into my trap!
Metro Man: You can’t trap justice! It’s an idea, a BELIEF!
Megamind: Even the most heartfelt belief can get corroded over time!
Metro Man: Justice is a non-corrosive metal!
Megamind: But metals can be melted, by the heat of revanche!
Metro Man: It’s REVENGE, and it’s best served cold!
Megamind: But it can be easily reheated, in the microwave of evil!
Metro Man: Well, I think your warranty’s about to expire!
Megamind: Maybe I got an extended warranty!
Metro Man: Warranties are invalid, if used beyond their intended purpose!
Roxanne Ritchi: [exasperated] Girls, girls, you’re both pretty! Can I go home now?

Metro Man: We all know how this ends: with you behind bars!
Megamind: Oooh, I’m shaking in my custom baby seal leather boots!

Metro Man: [to Megamind] Listen, little buddy, there’s a yin for every yang. If there’s bad, good will rise against it. It took me a long time to find my calling. Now it’s time you found yours.

[Metro Man suddenly collapses with exhaustion in the observatory]
Megamind: What trickery is this?
Metro Man: The walls… they’re obviously lined… with copper!
Megamind: Yes, what about it?
Metro Man: Copper… drains my powers!
Megamind: Your weakness is copper? Y-you’re kidding right?

Metro Man: It all started back at the observatory. Roxanne was kidnapped, I was gonna stop you. My head wasn’t in the game that day. We were kinda goin’ through the motions. So, using my super speed I decided to go clear my head. Then I realized, we had done this same silly charade our entire lives. I tried to get my mind off how I was feeling, but I just felt stuck. And I began to realize, despite all my powers, each and every citizen of Metro had something I didn’t; a choice. Ever since I can remember I’ve always had to be what this city wanted me to be. What about what I wanted to do? Then it suddenly hit me, I do have a choice! I can be whatever I wanna be! No one said that this hero thing had to be a life time gig. You can’t just quit either. That’s when I got the brilliant idea to fake my death! Once your death ray hit, I’ve never felt so alive. So I borrowed a prop from a nearby nursing school and Metro Man was finally dead! And Music Man was born!
Roxanne Ritchi: Music Man?
Metro Man: That way I get to keep the logo!

Metro Man: Way to go, little buddy. I knew you had it in you…

Megamind: You’re alive?
Roxanne Ritchi: You’re alive…
Metro Man: …I’m alive.
Roxanne Ritchi: But, but… We saw your skeleton! You were dead!
Megamind: [reaching forward] Are you a ghost?
Roxanne Ritchi: There had better be an amazing explanation for this!
Megamind: Speak, apparition!
