Brad Pitt’s Plan B and Indian media conglom Reliance Big Pictures have inked a deal with vidgame company Capcom to develop a feature film based on the “Dark Void” computer game as a potential franchise and starring vehicle for the actor.
Capcom will release “Dark Void,” about a pilot who crash lands in the Bermuda Triangle following a routine mission and wakes up to find himself in an alternate world resembling a primitive earth where aliens with superior technology are planning to take over civilization, in North America and Europe in January next year.

Project is the first to come out of Reliance’s development silo with Plan B after the deal was first announced at the Cannes film festival last year.

by admin / plan b World War Z

If you haven’t read it, “World War Z” is one of the sharpest books to be released in the past decade. Set in a grim possible future, the book is presented as a series of interviews with survivors of a globe-spanning zombie war, an incident which very nearly brought about the downfall of human society. Author Max Brooks, the son of Hollywood filmmaker Mel Brooks, employs the full spectrum of commentary to create a frighteningly believable scenario in which the human race responds to a complete societal breakdown.

Last week, I had the opportunity to speak with Brooks, who is busy promoting his upcoming appearance on the Starz Inside special Zombiemania, premiering October 13 at 10pm. He was more than happy to discuss the adaptation plans for “Z,” which was picked up by Brad Pitt’s Plan B Entertainment a few years ago.

Most studios passed on Matthew Vaughn’s “Kick-Ass” at the script stage, but now some seem to want another look at the adaptation of the Mark Millar comicbook.

Vaughn, who co-wrote, directed and produced (along with partners like Brad Pitt), unveiled a few “Kick-Ass” clips at Comic-Con last week, and the fanboys went nuts over what they saw, giving it a standing ovation.

“I was asked to show the footage twice,” Vaughn marveled.

Studios and other distribs will get a peek at the rough cut of “Kick-Ass” today at a private unspooling at the DGA in Hollywood.

Vaughn, who privately funded the pic about teenagers who want to be superheroes, gets why he didn’t initially get a greenlight from U.S. distribs. “The script broke every taboo known to man,” the helmer said, but he “had fun with it.”
