Chuck Palahniuk is breaking the first two rules of Fight Club: He’s talking about Fight Club.

The author’s devotees probably won’t mind since what’s on his mind these days is more of the characters and world he created in his 1996 book, which was adapted three years later into director David Fincher’s cult film starring Edward Norton and Brad Pitt.

The story of an unnamed insomniac narrator, his violent id come to life in the form of Tyler Durden, and an underground society built on bare-knuckle brawls and anarchic ideas continues in Fight Club 2, a 10-issue Dark Horse Comics maxiseries illustrated by Cameron Stewart, debuting in May 2015.

Palahniuk will be on a Fight Club panel with Fincher on Saturday at San Diego Comic-Con 2014, but it was at last year’s New York Comic Con where the author’s loose lips cemented the project.

“I messed up and said I was doing the sequel in front of 1,500 geeks with telephones,” Palahniuk says. “Suddenly, there was this big scramble to honor my word.”

Fight Club 2 takes place alternately in the future and the past. It picks up a decade after the ending of his original book, where the protagonist is married to equally problematic Marla Singer and has a 9-year-old son named Junior, though the narrator is failing his son in the same way his dad failed him.

Fight Club was a huge success, written by Chuck Palahniuk’s graphic novel, “Fight Club.” The novel paved way for the success of 1996’s “Fight Club,” which is now known as one of the best psychological thrillers of the 1990s.

Brad Pitt and Edward Norton have been excellent actors in the movie, along with Helena Bonham Carter, which has now to have a sequel. Palahniuk said “Fight Club 2” would be another graphic novel that would delve into the lives of Tyler Durden, 10 years after his successful creation of the “Fight Club.”

“It will likely be a series of books that update the story 10 years after the seeming end of Tyler Durden. Nowadays, Tyler is telling the story, lurking inside Jack, and ready to launch a come-back. Jack is oblivious. Marla is bored. Their marriage has run aground on the rocky coastline of middle-aged suburban boredom. It’s only when their little boy disappears, kidnapped by Tyler, that Jack is dragged back into the world of Mayhem.”

The twists in the movie would certainly make this another good watch. But the question would be if the the original stars of the graphic novel reprise their roles?

“The first rule of Fight Club is you do not talk about Fight Club”.

This line was immortalized by Brad Pitt in the 1999 movie “Fight Club”. The graphic novel released in 1966, which became one of the best movies of the 90’s was directed by Chuck Palahnuik. According to the director, avid fans of the movie now have something to look forward to—Fight Club 2.

Palahnuik first revealed his plans to direct the sequel to the graphic novel Fight Club at Comic Con. As Palahnuik describes the movie, saying:

“It will likely be a series of books that update the story ten years after the seeming end of Tyler Durden.

It is very obvious that there will be certain twists in the movie which fans would be eagerly waiting for, just like the first one.

Another question that arises is if the original cast, which includes A-Listers Brad Pitt and Edward Norton would be reliving their roles in the sequel of the graphic novel?

According to sources, the two stars are still tied up in contractual business and whether they would be portraying these roles again will be known in 2015.

Ed Norton has revealed he’s open to the idea of making another film with his Fight Club co-star Brad Pitt.

The actor, who appeared alongside Brad in the 1999 David Fincher action movie, said he wouldn’t rule out a reunion on screen but warned it would be tough to organise.

“It’s a possibility,” he told the Independent. “We’ve talked about it but me and Brad being in something together is a complicated thing to put together.”
