• 2006
Due to eagerly awaiting the birth of his first biological child with girlfriend Angelina Jolie, Brad took a break from filming for the first half of 2006, and instead went on a travelling tour with his family, staying, among others, in Germany, France, and Namibia, where daughter Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt was born on May 27th.
Brad hasn't been idling away, though - he is going to start filming Ocean's Thirteen in Los Angeles on July 21st, with George Clooney, Matt Damon, Don Cheadle and the other usual suspects from the Ocean gang reprising their roles as well. However, Julia Roberts and Catherine Zeta-Jones won't be part of this movie, instead Ellen Barkin and Al Pacino have been added to the cast.
Furthermore, production of Brad's next movie, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, an adaptation of the F. Scott Fitzgerald short-story, is said to begin in October. Brad will be playing the main character, a man who, at 50, begins aging backwards while at the same time being involved in a romance with a woman of 30.
Brad's passion for architecture hasn't been left fallow this year, either. He lent his voice to the PBS architecture documentary Design: e2, narrating the six-part series, which will be released US-nationwide in June. Furthermore, Brad is currently involved in a sustainable design competition held by Global Green USA, which is aiming at reconstructing New Orleans neighborhoods destroyed in Hurrican Katrina.
While Brad was in Namibia, the Cannes film festival took place and Brad's movie Babel, which is to be released in October 2006, was among the winners, the award for Best Director going to Alejandro González Iñárritu.

The film interweaves four stories set in Morocco, Tunisia, Japan and Mexico, starting with a tragedy befalling a holidaying married couple. In addition to this, Brad also filmed The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, shooting finished in November.
Brad continued his support for charity in 2005 by participating in the "Live 8" concert in Hyde Park, London. The "Live 8" concerts were part of the ONE Campaign Countdown to the G8 Summit to urge President Bush and other leaders of the world's 8 wealthiest nations to save millions of lives when they met together in Scotland, July 5th to 8th.
• 2004
After taking a short break from filming movies, 2004 was a big year for Brad. Troy, the adaptation of Homer's great epic, was filmed in Malta and the training for the role of Achilles was demanding. Brad was up to the task and the result was an amazing show of athleticism and powerful fight scenes. In a twist of irony, Brad tore his left achilles tendon while filming the movie. Brad, and the rest of the gang from Ocean's Eleven teamed up a second time to make Ocean's 12 later that year, adding to their cast Catherine Zeta-Jones.
Aside from film acting, this year, Brad's passion for those around the world began to play a big role in his life. He joined The ONE Campaign, with Bono and many others to fight the emergency of global AIDS and extreme poverty. Brad went to Africa to meet with Nelson Mandela and to offer his support.
