The last movie that Stephen Gaghan wrote and directed, Syriana, was able to nab an all-star cast that included George Clooney, Matt Damon, Christopher Plummer, Jeffrey Wright, Chris Cooper, Amanda Peet, Tim Blake Nelson and more, and now it looks like the filmmaker has already found two A-listers for his next project. Gaghan is now set to direct the crime thriller Candy Store and both Brad Pitt and Denzel Washington are in talks to star.
THR says that the movie is about a deep-cover operative who hits restart on his life by becoming a beat cop in Brooklyn, but soon discovers that the “global organization he was dedicated to fighting is also operating in his new backyard.” The trade says that things are still very much in the early stages with both Pitt and Washington and that Jamie Foxx has also taken an interest in one of the parts.
