“The Time Traveler’s Wife” is based on the best-selling book about a love that transcends time. Clare (Rachel McAdams) has been in love with Henry (Eric Bana) her entire life. She believes they are destined to be together, even though she never knows when they will be separated: Henry is a time traveler—cursed with a rare genetic anomaly that causes him to live his life on a shifting timeline, skipping back and forth through the years with no control. Despite the fact that Henry’s travels force them apart with no warning, Clare desperately tries to build a life with her one true love.

Most studios passed on Matthew Vaughn’s “Kick-Ass” at the script stage, but now some seem to want another look at the adaptation of the Mark Millar comicbook.

Vaughn, who co-wrote, directed and produced (along with partners like Brad Pitt), unveiled a few “Kick-Ass” clips at Comic-Con last week, and the fanboys went nuts over what they saw, giving it a standing ovation.

“I was asked to show the footage twice,” Vaughn marveled.

Studios and other distribs will get a peek at the rough cut of “Kick-Ass” today at a private unspooling at the DGA in Hollywood.

Vaughn, who privately funded the pic about teenagers who want to be superheroes, gets why he didn’t initially get a greenlight from U.S. distribs. “The script broke every taboo known to man,” the helmer said, but he “had fun with it.”

Billy Crudup has joined “Eat, Pray, Love,” the Columbia Pictures adaptation of Elizabeth Gilbert’s bestselling memoir that stars Julia Roberts, Javier Bardem and Richard Jenkins. Ryan Murphy is directing a script he wrote with Jennifer Salt.
Crudup will play Steven, who is married to Gilbert (Roberts). His hopes to have children are dashed when her quest to get pregnant leaves her feeling she is not living the life she wants. She embarks on a journey of self-discovery around the world.

Brad Pitt and Dede Gardner are producing through Plan B.

Pic begins shooting next week.
